A collaboration between the State of Louisiana and regional partners to reemploy workers
If you were laid off from the oil and gas industry, you might qualify for grant money to cover the cost of enrolling in training or certification classes. This opportunity to acquire a new skill or trade can expand your hiring prospects.
NEW SKILLS. NEW OPPORTUNITIES.
EXPLORE YOUR OPPORTUNITIES
If you’ve recently been laid off, you should apply for unemployment. File a claim online through the Louisiana Workforce Commission (LWC). The image below shows you how to use the website application process.
As you search for a new job, opportunities are available outside the oil industry. Companies are building new multibillion-dollar LNG plants while other industrial and petrochemical plants are expanding. Your skills and experience from the oil industry are needed on those projects.
If you submitted your information at the top of the site, LWC staff will contact you about your eligibility for funding. You can also contact your reemployment case manager and ask them specifically for more information on workforce development training.
Follow the link below to LWC’s website and search for available jobs.
